New Interdisciplinary Grant Scheme
Is your practice as a professional maker too broad to fit within a single discipline, and would you like to develop it further? Or do you work for an organisation and need funding for a project that brings different disciplines together? The new Interdisciplinary Grant Scheme from the national culture funds could be just what you're looking for. The scheme opens shortly.
The scheme is a joint initiative of the Mondriaan Fund, the Dutch Film Fund, the Performing Arts Fund, the Dutch Foundation for Literature, the Fund for Cultural Participation and the Creative Industries Fund NL. Together, the six national culture funds aim to help professional makers and organisations connect their interdisciplinary work more easily with the funds.
All applications go through the Mondriaan Fund's website and application system, and are assessed by a committee whose members bring expertise across every discipline involved.
Who is it for?
There are two Interdisciplinary grant schemes:
- For individual makers based in the Netherlands or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom who have built up at least one year of demonstrable professional, interdisciplinary practice. A fixed contribution of €24,900 is available to help you develop that practice further over the course of a year.
- For non-profit cultural organisations with legal personality, based in the Netherlands or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom, running projects that bring together art disciplines from more than one fund. What you receive depends on your project's total budget: a fixed contribution of €12,500 for budgets between €15,000 and €60,000, or €50,000 for budgets between €60,000 and €500,000.
How and when to apply?
You can apply for the Interdisciplinary Grant Scheme twice a year through the Mondriaan Fund's website, where you'll also find full details on the conditions and process. The first deadline is Thursday 1 October 2026, 16:00 (Netherlands time) / 10:00 (Caribbean time).
