Ars Electronica Festival, an annual, experts and audience-oriented platform for media art, has six projects by Dutch makers on show from 9 – 13 September 2026. The selection was made with support from the Creative Industries Fund. Five consortia – supported by the Fund as part of CIIIC – take part in the festival.

Participation of Dutch ADRIE consortia

The five consortia that were selected in 2025 as part of the Artistic & Design Research for Immersive Experiences (ADRIE) grant scheme and conduct activity programmes in 2026 and 2027, attend the Ars Electronica Festival to share their artistic and design research for immersive experiences with European professionals. ADRIE is part of the Creative Industries Immersive Impact Coalition (CIIIC), a Ministry of Education, Culture and Science’s National Growth Fund programme in the field of Immersive Experiences (IX). Consortia representatives also take part in knowledge sessions and visit the festival to gain inspiration, etc.

The participating consortia are: Shared Realities, Stage IX, Futures of Listening, Thuis and HEFT: Heritage for the future.

Dutch makers at the Ars Electronica Festival

With the Fund’s support, six projects by the Netherlands-based makers were selected for various exhibitions that make up Negotiating Humanity, this year’s festival theme. Two projects were also included in Nightline, a night-time programme full of music, performances and installations. The Fund supports the presentation of these projects at Ars Electronica Festival to introduce the makers to the international digital cultural field.
