An open and respectful dialogue between applicants and the staff of the Creative Industries Fund NL is essential. That is why we would like to make clear what standards of conduct we expect from one another, especially in conversations that may be sensitive.
Staff members of the Creative Industries Fund NL are in daily contact with applicants regarding questions about our grant procedures and responses to decisions on grant applications. These can sometimes be difficult conversations in which emotions run high, for example when an application has been rejected. Unfortunately, it does happen that our staff are confronted with verbal aggression, making it impossible to continue the conversation.
Applicants can expect to be treated professionally and calmly by our staff. In return, we ask for a measured and respectful approach; this benefits the conversation and promotes mutual understanding. If a staff member notices that the conversation breaks down and leads to an undesirable or even unsafe situation, they will indicate this, and the conversation may be ended if the aggression does not stop. Further communication will then, if necessary, continue by e-mail.
