The next time period of the Creative Industries Kick-start Grant Scheme opens in September. Unlike the time periods completed so far, the upcoming period is being split across the three disciplines the grant scheme focuses on: design, architecture and digital culture. This allows us to open the time period on three consecutive days and reduce the pressure on the application system.

The Creative Industries Kick-start Grant Scheme was introduced in early 2025 and has three time periods per year. A maximum number of applications can be considered in each time period. This number depends on the available budget. In the first two periods, this was consistently a maximum of 105 applications: 35 within the field of design, 35 within architecture and 35 within digital culture.

Now that the first two time periods have been completed, we note that the enthusiasm for the Creative Industries Kick-start Grant Scheme is much greater than we had anticipated when the grant scheme was developed, especially within the fields of design and digital culture. Combined with the limitation on the number of applications that can be considered, this creates great pressure on the application system from the moment the period opens. This situation certainly slowed down the system during the last period.

For the next period, we are therefore working with three consecutive opening days. In this way, we hope to reduce the pressure on the application system. The opening and closing times will also be adjusted so that applicants from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom can also start their applications during the day. The new standard opening time will be 15:00 CE(S)T instead of 10:00. The new standard closing time will be 16:00 CE(S)T instead of 17:00.
