Looking back: the Fund at Dutch Design Week 2025
From Saturday 18 to Sunday 26 October, Eindhoven was once again the focus of Dutch Design Week. Designers from across the country gathered at the event to showcase their latest work. Scattered across the city was work by makers supported under the Fund’s various grant schemes and open calls. Our own exhibition Stimuleringsfonds presents talent, the overview exhibition of our talent development programme, took place this year at MU Hybrid Art House at Strijp-S.
Stimuleringsfonds presents talent
Every year, emerging makers active in the fields of design, architecture and digital culture are given the opportunity to develop themselves optimally in artistic and professional terms, thanks to a grant from the Creative Industries Fund NL’s Talent Development Grant Scheme. The grant gives them time to lay a good foundation for a distinctive and meaningful practice within the creative industries. They are given space to develop themselves as makers and to explore and deepen important themes in their work. They can also invest in lasting relationships, within their own field and the creative industry, and beyond.
The exhibition Stimuleringsfonds presents talent gave a glimpse into the 55 design practices supported by a talent development grant over the past year via short video portraits, exhibited work and a publication. The makers take you through their working and thinking process, the steps they have taken over the past year and the projects they are working on.

On 18 October, the exhibition was opened in an festive atmosphere by Syb Groeneveld, executive director of the Fund. This was followed by a performance by interdisciplinary designer Oscar van Leest. In his practice, he is involved in audio(visual) design, interaction, sound and space. With his self-designed wearable instruments, he translates kinetic data into sound.
more supported makers at Dutch Design Week 2025
Besides at our own exhibition at MU Hybrid Art House, many supported makers presented their work at other venues. For example, Manifestations (supported under the Festivals and public presentations Grant Scheme) was held in the Veemgebouw, The Waiting Room (supported under the Open Call Room for Justice) was on the Ketelhuisplein, and Crafts Council Nederland (supported under the Creative Industry Activities Programme Grant Scheme) presented HOW&WOW in De Fabriek. We shared more tips in this article.
We put out a call to supported makers to share their presentation at DDW with us, and brought together the submitted projects on this map. Are you missing a project? Then you can still pass it on via communicatie@stimuleringsfonds.nl.
