Regional interaction: scouts and Spot-on
As a Fund, we believe it is important to have a good understanding of what is going on in the creative industries across the Netherlands. That is why we aim to interact more with the field in every part of the Netherlands, as included in our 2025-2028 policy plan, Changes in our work. Project manager region Chloë Neeleman explains how we do this.

Scouts
‘At the beginning of this year, we started recruiting scouts: the eyes and ears of the Fund throughout the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom,’ Chloë says. By now, most scouts have started their work. They inform designers, cultural organisations and other creative initiators about the Fund’s grant opportunities, and put them in touch with its staff. ‘The scouts meet monthly at our office in Rotterdam. They provide feedback about which potential applicants they have come into contact with or which interesting projects they have seen. In addition, they speak at information sessions, or example, visit student exhibitions and distribute information through local incubators and organisations.’

By informing the Fund about local developments, the scouts contribute to strengthening the creative industries, at a local and regional level. Meet all the scouts and do not hesitate to contact them:

Spot-on
The scouts are also deployed to organise Spot-on events in their provinces. ‘During this event, makers from the area are informed in an accessible way about the various grant opportunities available from the Fund. Questions can be asked, there are speed dates with Fund staff and networking drinks afterwards.’
A first pilot will be organised after the summer. We announce the editions through our newsletter and socials.
