Karin van Gilst en Yolande Melsert new members of Supervisory Board

Karin van Gilst and Yolande Melsert have been appointed by Minister of Education, Culture and Science Rianne Letschert as members of the Supervisory Board of the Creative Industries Fund NL, effective October 1, 2026.

The Creative Industries Fund NL operates with a Supervisory Board model that includes a Board and a Supervisory Board. Together, the members of the Supervisory Board represent a rich knowledge of society, the (international) design field, cultural entrepreneurship, finance, legal affairs, and corporate governance. The Supervisory Board's task is to supervise the Board's policy, the general course of affairs at the Fund, and to provide the Board with advice.

Karin van Gilst

Karin van Gilst is an experienced executive, supervisor and adviser in the cultural and media sectors. She is currently Director of Foam museum. Previously, she served as Managing Director of BNNVARA, Managing Director of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and Director at WPG Media. She is Vice-chair of the Supervisory Board of Museum Het Rembrandthuis and Vice-chair of the Supervisory Board of Rabobank Amsterdam.

Yolande Melsert

Yolande Melsert

Yolande Melsert has served on the supervisory boards of, among others, De Kleine Komedie, the Dutch knowledge institute for digital culture and heritage (DEN), and the Dutch Theatre Festival and Fringe Festival. She currently serves as a diplomat at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Germany, where she is Head of Culture & Communication. Prior to this, she was posted to Jakarta, Indonesia, for four years as a diplomat. She also served for five years as Director of the NAPK, the Dutch Association for the Performing Arts.

Supervisory Board

The Supervisory Board consists of seven members and, in addition to Karin van Gilst and Yolande Melsert, includes chairperson Yasemin Tümer (owner and director of Ryt Holding BV, advice and investments in good governance and diversity), Tom Frantzen (founder and director of FRANTZEN et al architecten), Pieter Siebinga (interim director of SNN, Samenwerkingsverband Noord-Nederland), Marinda Verhoeven (school director of HKU Design at Utrecht University of the Arts), and Mahir Alkaya (Advisor Public Affairs Consumentenbond). Both Pieter Siebinga and Marinda Verhoeven were reappointed by the Minister with effect from 1 October for a second term as members of the Supervisory Board of the Creative Industries Fund NL.
