Grens//gevallen – CBK Zeeland
In Grens//gevallen (Border//Cases), CBK Zeeland shows that water safety in the Netherlands is not just a technical issue. Equally important is the question of how people actually live alongside that water. CBK Zeeland invites young makers to explore this. Working in multidisciplinary teams, together with young entrepreneurs from Zeeland and experienced experts, they develop scenarios for water safety. This takes place for three locations in the Zeeland Delta. The central question is: what beauty and happiness do we find in daily life on the border between land and water, even when things don't go as planned? The teams develop their scenarios in five consecutive phases: from assessment and programming , through concept development, to production and public presentation.

Conciërges | Het bindmiddel tussen alle lagen van mensen en stenen – Stichting Multiscape
In Conciërges | Het bindmiddel tussen alle lagen van mensen en stenen (The Binding Agent Between All Layers of People and Bricks), Stichting Multiscape shines a light on caretakers as the linchpin between a building and its users. Caretakers know a building inside out and play an important role in its day-to-day use. They also fulfil a social role: they connect people, offer a listening ear and solve problems. This artistic research explores how caretakers create their own mini-society, which can yield valuable insights for these times in which many people are opposed to one another. Video artist Mirte van Duppen highlights this value and the ‘quiet’ knowledge of caretakers, which she believes often goes unnoticed. Van Duppen is working together with four partners: St. Odulphuslyceum in Tilburg, care organisation Vitalis Wissehaege in Eindhoven, creative hub NYMA in Nijmegen and the Municipality of Tilburg.

De Buurderij – el KANTOOR
De Buurderij (a play on the Dutch words for 'neighbour' and 'farm') is a project by residents of the Schilderswijk, a newly established cooperative and el KANTOOR. Together, they are working on a plan for the redevelopment of the Jacobahof city farm. The farm, which was built by local residents themselves in 1999, is no longer usable due to a lack of maintenance, and its supporting structure is literally showing cracks. The neighbourhood would like to renovate the farm to turn it into an icon of the district and its community spirit. On the initiative of the neighbourhood, all parties are working together to draw up a plan that ranges from research and design through to implementation. In various sessions and meetings, residents are mapping out the history, significance and aspirations for the farm. They are then developing a design and vision for the future in a series of steps, with the neighbourhood always retaining control.
