Target for De-calibration | Transmediale e.V.

For the upcoming festival of transmedia in Berlin, Germany, Rosa Menkman will develop a 20-square-metre ‘resolution target’ on the roof of the Stasi Museum. Resolution targets are large objects built by humans in remote locations for the purpose of calibrating the location of satellites. Menkman approaches these targets as ‘land art’ and in the work she is developing for transmedia, the target will contain an encrypted message and an AR experience. The target will be documented by drone photography and Google Earth and presented during the festival in print and digital.
