Nami Kim graduated from the Piet Zwart Institute in 2022 in Fine Art and Design: Experimental Publishing. Kim's practice is situated at the intersection of design and digital culture. Kim is working on alternatives to standardised web design and misleading interfaces. To extend her research into practice, Kim runs the HTML Zine Club. This is a community server where people learn the basics of web coding (HTML and CSS) and host their own personalised web pages. With this server, she wants to create independent online spaces where users have more control over their own digital experience. She examines how large, dominant social-media platforms are increasingly limiting the way people express themselves online.

During the development year, Kim will interview eight artists and collectives about their independent web practices for a podcast series. She is also taking a course in cyber security, providing extensive HTML Zine workshops, and organising an exhibition.
