LeerKracht | Ink

Social Design Bureau Ink, together with the City of Amsterdam, is investigating how to reduce segregation and inequality of opportunity in education. LeerKracht is a project through which they aim to tackle opportunity inequality and social challenges in Amsterdam. They see a crucial role for teachers in this process. The project is an investigation into what teachers need to be able to provide effective and inclusive education to diverse classes. Phase 1 involves preliminary research to tighten up the problem definition and research questions. During Phase 2, a solution will be developed that takes teachers’ needs into account. In addition, various interventions and programmes are being developed to empower teachers. Ultimately, a tested and validated prototype will be presented to key stakeholders and the education partnership, and the City of Amsterdam.
