Digital Storytelling: A.I. Narratives and Drone Photogrammetry | Tivon Rice

Tivon Rice is receiving a starting grant for the project 'Digital Storytelling: A.I. Narratives and Drone Photogrammetry'. In his artistic practice, machine learning and photogrammetry – taking measurements and determining the position by means of photographs – play an important role. Rice is researching the artistic and technical possibilities of these two areas. He combines drone photography, 3D scans and visualizations and AI narrative, for which Rice will collaborate with the developers of the Google Artists and Machine Intelligence programme (Google AMI). The research is given form in installations, video and text-based works in which landscapes and objects are analyzed. In the context of the research, a presentation and workshop will take place at FIBER and collaboration will be sought with Het Nieuwe Instituut and Instrument Inventors Initiative (iii).
